Letting aside any puns let me immediately present you make-up artist Melissa Murphy explaining her desire to photograph porn stars before and after having a fling as an artist on them:
I think it’s simple. People are fascinated by these photos because they’re used to seeing celebrities fully made up and re-touched in glossy magazines and aspire to that. To see them barefaced and real, with flaws, is a comfort. It makes them feel better about themselves. Make-up can literally transform a face, create a persona. I’ve worked with actors, musicians and models that arrive on a shoot feeling insecure and as soon as their face is ‘on’ they turn in to a different person. For some people it’s like a mask. I think more celebrities should be photographed au natural. It’s refreshing.
Reminding me somehow on Lou Stoppard’s thoughts on red lips.

Right !
I definitely prefer “real” people before fake beauties. Great post.
the greatest is, waking up in the morning besides your beautiful woman au naturel! 🙂
ahaha, wow, excellent! yes, make-up does something to the look and confidence of the wearer. i get more good mornings when my face is made-up, ahaha. hi, J.A.! 😉
if you need some help with getting a perfect make-up put on your face, there are youtube videos by other girls trying to copy Murphy’s style and showing how to get this job well done. 😉 besides, after 2 hours trying hard to become a puppy-beauty every early-morning-bad-mood will be gone away… if one succeeds. 😀
ahaha, i’ll look that up. i only put the basics, usually. but i’ll search them at YouTube one day. thanks. hope you are well. 🙂
